Water Falls,Kadiyalena,Central Province,sri lanka

A waterfall is a place where water flows over a vertical drop or a series of drops in the course of a stream or river. Waterfalls also occur where meltwater drops over the edge of a tabular iceberg or ice shelf

A cascade of water falling from a height, formed when a river or stream flows over a precipice or steep incline.

Waterfalls often form in the upper stages of a river where it flows over different bands of rock. It erodes soft rock more quickly than hard rock and this may lead to the creation of a waterfall. Formation of a waterfall: The soft rock erodes more quickly, undercutting the hard rock.

Waterfalls keep falling because rivers and streams keep flowing. Rivers and streams collect water from a broad watershed. As long as it rains somewhere in that watershed occasionally, the river will keep flowing. If you have a bucket full of water and punch a hole near the bottom, the water will flow fast at first and gradually slow down as the level in the bucket drops. Rivers are the same way. After a rainstorm, water will flow downstream quickly and then slow down as the water level drops. It takes many weeks to completely drain a long river.
