 Yagiriala forest Reserve The area of 5,908 hectares has been halved since 1971 due to exploitation, but thankfully remedial action is underway, which includes increased growth of aquatic plants to enhance the relative protection of stream and bank vegetation. It is on record that 45% of the plant species at this Reserve are endemic to sri Lanka. The university of jayawardanapura,sri Lanka has been entrusted with the task of turning the yagirala Forest onto a high-benifit reserve once again.

Horton plains, the highest plateau in Sri Lanka, was traditionally known as Mahaeliya until it was renamed Horton plains after Sir Robert Horton, a British governor. It was gazetted as a Nature Reserve on 5th of December 1969 and was upgraded as a National park on 16th of March 1988. Two escarpments falling from the Horton plains have contributed to it's awe inspiring physiognomy, " the small world end" and "the big world end". The park is the home to Sambar, leopard, primates, a spectrum of flora and rare bird life like the Crested serpent Eagle, the Mountain Hawk Eagle, the Blue Flycatcher and the Whistling Thrust.

I worried about these days about the future. so I was slowly moving through that path. But I'm happy about it. You all can ask WHY? ! ! ! I love my earth and nature than all others. In my view it is a reflection of what we did to the earth. What I saw as positive during this period are... The earth became a clean place for all the organisms. The pollution is reduced We started to to our home food so it improve the health and I hope the health conditions of the diseased persons may improve. We think a lot about our future We started to clean and cultivate to obtain our home garden harvest. We started to spent a lot of time with our home members. All the water bodies became almost crest and clean. ANYHOW we lost...
