Last week 19th of December I went to dambulla cave temple as an individual visit to spent my time in a better way. It was a peaceful trip to me. Dambulla is an ancient capital city of sri Lanka, the picture shows the largest Buddha statue coated with gold. Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. This site is situated 148 kilometres east of Colombo and 72 kilometres north of Kandy. Horton Plains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by mountains, grassland and cloud forest. Horton Plains National Park is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka of NPrior to the British rule in the country, this area was called Maha Eliya. Around 1820s the British came to know about this unique nature resource. It was later renamed as Horton Plains after the then British Governor Sir Robert Horton (Governor from 1832-1837). Sir Samuel Baker made this area popularised during his hunting encounters. Two other British planters, namely Tomas Farr and H.Anderson who had estates near to Horton Plains had lodges built to facilitate their hunting episodes .During the British era, this area was under protection from the Administration Order of 1873, which prohibited cutting of forests above the altitude of 5000 feet in the island. watawala is the coolest place in sri lanka which is most supportive to tea cultivation. the best quality tea is produced here due to it's fine climate for tea cultivation. The teas produced from these districts are referred to by Tea Trade as teas from “ Dimbula , Uva,  Nuwara Eliya , Uda Pussellawa, Kandy and Ruhuna”. The true connoisseurs may select teas from a sub district or even a single garden where the uniqueness is unmatched
